International Relations Journalism Training 2017: The First

 

Cikarang, Bekasi – Monday (13/3), President University Major Association of International Relations (PUMA IR) initiates a newly established event named International Relations Journalism Training 2017 in Charles Himawan Auditorium, President University. By inviting Shintya Felicitas, a writer at Forbes Indonesia, and a couple of fresh graduates of President University’s International Relations Study Program, Lanny Surya Alfiani and Marella Putri, International Relations students from various batch took participation in this event.

Shintya Felicitas gave a material about How to Write News, pointing out the things that will be needed when it comes to news writing, starts from the purposes of the news, structures, stages of writing, as well as substantive matters. The event then continued to Writing Activity, where the participants are expected to produce a good news based on the information that had been provided, which then was presented and judged.

Lanny Surya and Marella Putri, who once had their internship at Forbes Indonesia, on the other hand hosting a Media Ethics Seminar, which main concern is to introduce standard customs of media and journalists along with ethical concern and emphases of journalism.

 “It is true that nowadays media is seen as somehow biased and one-sided, but the main concept of journalism is simple; you tell people the truth. But however, every journalist need to lean on journalism ethics, and concern about the consequences of the freedom they’ve been given as a journalist.”, said Lanny Surya.

The event was successfully ended with awarding session with several categories from Best News and Journalist Wannabe to the Most Enthusiast Participant.
