IRPRESUNIV.ORG, CIKARANG – On Tuesday, 8th September 2020, President University Major Association of International Relations (PUMA IR) had successfully held the first event during this pandemic, which is the Book Review with the title of “Donald Trump dan Kebijakan Luar Negeri AS Dalam Isu Nuklir Iran” with the speakers are both authors of the book itself, Prof. Anak Agung Banyu Perwita, Ph.D and Mr. Muhammad Ilham Razak. With Mrs. Ilmi Dwi Astuti, S.H.Int., M.SS. as the moderator of this Book Review event. This event was held through the Zoom Online Meeting and opened by the Master of Ceremony and then continued to Dr Muhammad A.S. Hikam, APU delivered his opening remarks and expressed how proud he is of this book release and he hoped that in the future more and more lecturers or students from President University could produce creation in the international relations field. Before proceeding to the main agenda, the representatives from the President Center for International Studies (PRECIS) which is Mr. Riski M. Baskoro, S.Sos., M.A. delivered his greetings and continued by the moderator to read out the short profiles of both authors.
Proceeding to the main agenda, Mr. Muhammad Ilham Razak gives his opening speech and talk about the stuff of Donald Trump as A Man of Controversy during his period. Starting from planning to build a giant wall on the US – Mexico border to withdraw from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) agreement, as one of the focuses of this book. In this book, He and Prof. Banyu look at foreign policy from an individual perspective with Leaders Idiosyncratic Factors that look at the perspective of a leader. In addition, he also added some things that are the essence of this book, such as how the US foreign policy process, the idiosyncratic factor of Trump, and the Iranian nuclear issues. Next to another speaker, Prof. Anak Agung Banyu Perwita, PhD to deliver his speech, and talks while he also added that he has an interest in foreign policy as it gives many impacts to how the world works. Moreover, he talked a lot about how the U.S. foreign policy always gives impact to the world, like whatever happens in the United States probably it will have a significant impact on its foreign policy. Besides, this foreign policy is like a manifestation of the leadership characteristics from its leader, and the leadership characteristics are very important as he said that it will determine how’s foreign policy works.
After the speaker had finished, the Moderator continued and opened the Question and Answer session. This book review event received many questions from the participants proving that many people are interested in this topic of “Donald Trump dan Kebijakan Luar Negeri AS Dalam Isu Nuklir Iran” book. Further, the event was officially closed by the Master of Ceremony and completed with a quick photo session with the speaker and participants of the seminar.
