International Relations President University Ministerial Visit : IR Visit Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic Indonesia

IRPRESUNIV.ORG, Jakarta – In order to gain more knowledge about the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), President University Major Association of International Relations’ (PUMA IR) Foreign Affairs Division held a Ministerial Visit to the MOFA on Monday (29/05/2017). This kind of visit was opened for any International Relations student batch 2015 and 2016, and it was also assisted by Ms. Isyana Adriani, a lecturer in International Relations Study Program.

This event was consisted of two main agendas, the first was a general lecture from the Badan Pengkajian dan Pengembangan Kebijakan (BPPK) department of MOFA and the second agenda was a tour around the MOFA complex. The general lecture by BPPK was delivered by the respected secretary of MOFA’s BPPK departement Mr. Samsul Rizal, SH. The lecture was much about President Jokowi’s foreign policy which related with the Trisakti priciples. Other than that, the speaker also talked about ASEAN because it will face the age of fifty in this August. “Indonesia is one of the founders of ASEAN and where the headquarter of ASEAN is located, so Indonesia puts more attention on ASEAN. This act is considered as the act of Indonesian participation in international field especially in ASEAN region” said Samsul Rizal on Monday. The lecture has given more understanding for students on how is the foreign direction of the Indonesian foreign policy in the era of President Jokowi.

There were 40 International Relations students of President University coming from batch 2015 and 2016 that participated on this event, they were more curious  about the issues of how is Indonesia’s existence in the region and world, moreover they also want to know how is the working atmosphere in the MOFA, where several IR students of President University batch 2014 are taking their internship for the next two semesters of the academic term and this could be the opportunity for the younger students to get more references on their future internship program.
